Arlo offers a PayPal integration.
PayPal is a service that enables you to pay, get paid, and send money. Your PayPal account must be the Express Checkout option to support the integration.
The following instructions describe the process to set up your PayPal service and connect it with Arlo to take credit card payments.
If you use the Paypal integration, you will not be able to complete partial refunds within Arlo (only full refunds). Partial refunds will need to be processed from within Paypal.
Arlo cannot integrate with any other PayPal solution than Express Checkout.
- Open PayPal’s Business Account page.
- Press Sign Up. Otherwise, click Log In if you already have an account.
- Enter your Email Address.
- Enter your Details and press Agree and Continue.
- Enter your Business Details.
- Click on Link a Bank and fill in your bank details to connect your bank account for easy transfers.
- Once you have created a PayPal Business Account, from the dashboard of your PayPal Account, select the Profile icon on the top right, and then select Account settings.
- On the side navigation bar of the Account Settings page, ensure you are on the Account Access tab.
- On the API Access section, press Update.
- Scroll down to the Custom checkout experience section and click on NVP/SOAP API Integration (Classic) option.
- Choose API Signature and click on Agree and Submit.
- This will reveal the API Signature credentials for your PayPal account.
Do not leave this page. You will need these details to be loaded into Arlo. If you do need to leave the page, copy and paste all of these details below and save them in a secure place.
The following process outlines the steps to enable the integration between Arlo and your Paypal account.
- Open the Settings menu item.
- From the Financial section, select Payment methods.
- Press Add payment method.
- Select Credit card.
- Select PayPal.
- Enter your Paypal credentials.
Read how to find these credentials. If you do not have these you will need to contact PayPal.
- In the Payment due dates section, select a Set order date using setting and a Payment due setting. These are used in the event that the payment is not successfully processed.
- Ensure the payment method is available for registrants on your website checkout.
If you do not tick this, the payment method will be available internally only.
- (Optional) Choose a custom Payment label. If you add a label, it will still display the default payment name (Credit Card), with the label added to the end of the default name within Arlo. e.g. Credit card [Paypal]. It will be displayed as Paypal on your checkout.
- Choose the payment messages to be displayed on the checkout when the payment method is selected.
- Scroll to the top of the page and press Save or Save and Close.
After setting up and receiving orders you may get an email from Paypal (see below example) warning you that IPNs (Instant Payment Notifications) may be disabled. Arlo does not currently support PayPal IPNs.
You may like to advise PayPal that IPN functionality is not currently supported by Arlo. They may disable the IPNs without consequence.
