Arlo allows you to create vouchers that your contacts or organisations can redeem on events.
Key articles for managing Vouchers:
- Create a voucher
- Sell vouchers to customers
- Redeem a voucher
- Processing a refund where the payment method is a voucher: see Step 3 at Cancel a registration and apply a refund.
- Edit voucher settings
- Disable vouchers / remove option from checkout
Important information: Vouchers in Arlo are very similar to actual retail 'Gift Vouchers' and should be used when you want to provide someone (whether it's an organisation or an individual) with an allocated fixed value amount (balance) for discounting purposes. The voucher recipient can redeem their voucher in the checkout process by entering in their 'Voucher Code'.
Vouchers are tax inclusive and should be treated as a payment towards an order. If you wish to provide complimentary registrations or offer courses at a lower price - you should look at discounts instead, as discounts are applied to an order before the subtotal is calculated and GST is only calculated on what the registrants need to pay, whereas a voucher deducts the balance of an order after GST has been applied to it.
