Capture information using custom fields for contacts/organisations
Custom fields allow you to store information directly against a contact/organisation's record using a range of field types.
Once configured, contact fields can also be included within your registration forms and customer portal update forms so that any required information can be captured/updated online.
There is a range of reports available that include custom field information.
You can also import custom fields when adding/updating contacts in Arlo and run reports on field information.

Enable email validation for contacts in your checkout
You can enable email validation for all of the forms used on your website e.g. registrations forms, leads forms. Validation helps to prevent incorrect email addresses being used, which may result in contacts not receiving their event-related communication.
- Open the Settings menu.
- Click Fields.
- Click Contacts.
- In the Active list, find the Email system field and press Edit.
- In the Options section, select Require confirmation.
- Press Save.
- All emails fields will now require confirmation on your website forms.
Contact and organisation address settings
You can choose which parts of addresses to capture for your contacts and organisations, set alternative billing addresses, use derived addresses for reporting purposes, and prevent or allow address updates through your website checkout forms.

Auto-suggest organisation names during the registration process (duplicate management)
You can enable an auto-suggest feature which offers suggestions to possible matches of organisations when registrations are being submitted on your website. This helps to prevent duplicates from being created.
For example, where one registrant entering 'DesignQ' and another entering 'DesignQ Ltd'
- The suggestion will only be displayed after the user enters 2s or more characters.
- The number of suggestions displayed is limited.
- Arlo will not add any additional information to the form (e.g. an organisation's address or contact details) after the user selects an organisation. It is only the name.
Enable/disable auto-suggestions on your registration process
- Open the Settings menu.
- Select Order settings.
- In the Website registrations section enable or disable Organisation autocomplete selector.

Review and accept suggested domains
Arlo uses the following logic to automatically work out which email domains to apply to an organisation when linking contacts;
- The organisation's website address (e.g. adds "designq.com" if the organisation's website is "www.designq.com")
- The email address domain of contacts already linked to the organisation, where the organisation's name appears in the contact's email address
- There are two or more contacts linked with an organisation which have the same domain and the domain is not included in the "Ignored Domain Options" list.
In some cases, you will need to manually confirm if a domain should be added to an organisation. The following process describes how to review and accept (or ignore) Arlo's suggestions.

- Click... More and select Automatically link contacts within organisations.
- Select each suggestion by ticking the corresponding checkbox and then either press Accept Suggestion or Ignore Suggestion.
