Arlo allows you to create name labels for attendees to wear at a course. You can create the label design using Microsoft Word which enables you to customise the layout, fonts and colours, add images, and create designs for an extensive range of formats and label types.
Create name label templates
The following process describes how to create and upload your own name label template.
Step 1: Download sample data
- Open the Settings menu item.

- From the Courses section, select Name label templates.

- Press Download sample merge data.

Most custom course, contact and registration field types can also be added to name labels. To be able to do this, you must have the required custom fields enabled on your platform. All available fields will appear in your sample merge data.
Step 2: Open Microsoft Word and start mail merge
- Open a new document in Microsoft Word.
- In the Mailings menu, press Start Mail Merge and select Labels.

- Select Label vendor (e.g. Avery).
- Select Product number (e.g. L7418K).

- Press OK.
Step 3: Insert fields
- In the Mailings menu, press Select Recipients and select Use Existing List...

- Select the sample data file you downloaded in Step 1 of this process.
- Press OK, then OK.
- In the Mailing menu, press Insert Merge Field and select the field you would like to insert from the list.
- Repeat this process to insert all required fields.
Step 4: Apply formatting and insert images
Align the fields
- Click your mouse into the first label area.
- In the Layout menu, press Select, and then select Select Table from the menu.

- In the Layout menu, press the Align centre icon.

Apply the formatting and insert images
- In the Home menu, use the standard Microsoft formatting tools to change fonts, add spacing, apply colours, etc.
- In the Insert menu, select Picture to insert an image (e.g. your logo).
Preview results
- In the Mailings menu, select Preview Results to see an example of how the label will look with some actual data.

Step 5: Copy content from the first label to other labels
- In the Mailings menu, select Update Labels. Contents from the first label will be copied to all other labels.

Fix Potential Issues
1. Content from the first label is not being copied to all other labels
- In the Mailing menu, press Start Mail Merge and make sure Labels menu item is selected.
- Ensure «Next Record» merge field is on the document in the next label section.
2. Not all labels are correctly aligned
- Ensure the process outlined in Step 4: Align the fields is followed.
Step 6: Save file and upload the template
- Save the file to your computer.
- In Arlo, open the Settings menu item.

- From the Courses section, select Name label templates.

- Press Add Template.
- Press Browse.... and select the file you previously saved to your computer.
- Enter a Name for the new name label template.
- Press Add Template.
Print name labels for a course
- Open the course you would like to print name labels for.
- From the toolbar, press Labels.

- Select the label template you would like to use.
- Select the Format and Order.
