The following article explains the different course schedule types available in Arlo and provides information on how to create different types of courses using the course wizard.
Before creating your course it is important to understand the different course schedule types that can be used, and how each option affects your course.
Basic
Basic courses run over part of a day, a whole day, or consecutive days.

Registrants will be registered for the whole course and they will receive one calendar appointment that lasts the entirety of the course. These courses can be face-to-face or live online (webinar style), and would have the same presenter(s) and, where required, venue, for the whole course. Presenter requests can be sent for courses using a basic schedule.
Multi-session with no choice of sessions (registrants attend all)
Multi-session courses with no choice are courses with multiple different sessions that run on different days and times. Registrants would be expected to attend all sessions.

Multi-session with no choice courses can include a mix of face-to-face and live online (webinar style) sessions and individual calendar appointments are sent for all sessions. Sessions on a multi-session course can have different presenters and venue/join links.
Multi-session with a choice of sessions
Multi-session courses with a choice of sessions are courses with multiple different sessions that run on different days and times. If required, sessions can be made to be mandatory and can be hidden from the website. Registrants will be registered on any mandatory sessions plus any sessions they select.

Multi-session courses with a choice of sessions can include a mix of face-to-face and live online (webinar style) sessions and individual calendar appointments are sent for any sessions the attendee is registered on. Sessions on a multi-session with choice course can be individually priced and they can have different presenters and venue/join links.
Arlo is set up to allow you to efficiently manage your recurring training and courses. Rather than having to copy all the same information (e.g. name, description, prerequisites) each time it is scheduled, common information about the course is stored within a course template.
Course templates can be available without any course dates to accept interest on a course, or from organisations wishing to run a course in-house.

Alternatively, if you have an existing Learning Management System (LMS), such as Moodle, Arlo also offers full integration with Moodle, which enables you to create modules participants can complete at their own pace, online, from anywhere. These modules can include SCORM packages, quizzes, surveys, wikis, and assignments, all while tracking completion. Course completion information and grades are automatically fed back to Arlo.

Arlo includes the ability to display courses on your website for which registrations are externally managed (e.g. courses for which you are a partner). Using Arlo, you can advertise these courses but direct your site visitors to the appropriate page for registration.

Arlo will copy across the session names, presenter names, running times, descriptions, and other session-related information to the new course. You can also copy any optional extras and their related settings making it easy to create new advanced courses.
