The following article outlines how to connect Arlo to Microsoft Dynamics using Zapier.
In order for the Zapier integration to work seamlessly with Arlo, it's strongly recommended that each of the below steps and Zaps are completed otherwise you may end up with an incomplete integration (e.g. records passed one way but not the other).
- In your Zapier Dashboard select Create Zap.
- Search for and select Arlo from the app selector.
- Choose New Contact as the Trigger Event and press Continue.
- Choose your account and press Continue.
- On the find data step, press Test Trigger.
If Zapier says it cannot find any contacts to display try creating a new contact in your platform, waiting a couple minutes, and clicking test again.
- Search for and select Dynamics as the new Trigger.
- For Choose Action Event select Create Contact and press Continue.
- Select the Dynamics account you'd like to connect to the Zap.
You will need to connect to your Dynamics account if this is the first time you've used it for a Zap.
- You can now populate the Dynamics fields with the Arlo contact information. We've added only a small sample of what can be sent due to the size of the Zap
Dynamics accounts only have custom dynamic fields, customisable on a per-user account so your customisation screen will be different to the one below.
- Once you've entered all the information you'd like the new Dynamics contact to receive from Arlo, press Continue.
- In the final step, to test that the Zap works and will add a new contact successfully, press Test & Continue.
You can also choose Test & Review here if you'd like to check the information that Zapier transferred to Dynamics and that the contact is created successfully.
- The Zap is now created and ready to go, all that's left is to give it a name and turn it on.
- In your Zapier Dashboard select Create Zap.
- Search for and select Arlo from the app selector.
- Choose Updated Contact as the Trigger Event and press Continue.
- Choose your account and press Continue.
- On the find data step, press Test Trigger.
If Zapier says it cannot find any contacts to display try updating a contact in your platform, waiting a couple minutes, and clicking test again.
Zapier needs to look up the correct contact in Dynamics from your Arlo information so the Zap can update it.
- Search for and select Dynamics as the new Trigger.
- For Choose Action Event select Find Contact and press Continue.
- Select the Dynamics account you'd like to connect to the Zap.
You will need to connect to your Dynamics account if this is the first time you've used it for a Zap.
- Set the properties Zapier will use to find the Arlo contact in Dynamics. Arlo needs a First name, Last name and Email address for each unique contact so we recommend using these.
If no contact is found when searched for, Zapier can create a new one in Dynamics.
- Press Continue.
- Press Test & Continue.
- Search for and choose Dynamics as the next app.
- Select Update Contact as the action.
- Connect to the same account as the previous step.
- For the Contact ID field, select the ID field from the previous Find or create action step. Dynamics needs that to know which contact it is updating.
- You can now populate the Dynamics fields with the Arlo contact information that you would like to be updated. We've added only a small sample of what can be sent due to the size of the Zap.
- Once you've entered all the information you'd like the new Dynamics contact to receive from Arlo, press Continue.
- In the final step, to test that the Zap works and will update a contact successfully, press Test & Continue.
