Arlo allows administrators to add provisional (tentative) presenters to a course/sessions. Provisional presenters do not receive any course confirmation emails and do not appear in any reporting or on your website or course communication to registrants until they have been marked as confirmed by an administrator on the course/session. They are essentially placeholders.
Provisional presenters can be sent presenter requests, but will not be confirmed for a course if they accept a request until they have been marked as confirmed by an administrator on the course.
- Open the Courses menu.
- Find and select the course you would like to add provisional presenters too.
- Press Edit.
- Navigate to the Schedule tab.
- Press Add Presenter.
For Multi-session courses, you will need to add a session to see this.
- Enter the presenter's name and press Add.
- Hover over the presenter's name and click the Presenter Settings icon.
- Select Mark as provisional.
Provisional presenters will not be sent any course related communication until they are confirmed. If a presenter is not marked as provisional they will be confirmed on the course as soon as it has been approved and sent a presenter confirmation email.
- The presenter will be added to the course as provisional, denoted by an asterisk.
- Press Save and close, or complete the course setup process.
- On the course summary page, if a presenter is provisional then there will be an asterisk next to their name.
Arlo recommends courses with provisional presenters have the active outstanding tasks course reminder enabled.
- Open the Courses menu.
- Find and select the course you would like to manage provisional presenters for.
- Press Edit.
- Navigate to the Schedule tab.
- In the Presenters section, click on the Presenter Settings.
- Select either Mark as confirmed, or Remove the presenter from the course.
- Press Save and close or Save.
If a presenter is marked as confirmed and the course is saved, you will be asked if you would like to send the standard presenter confirmation email. (This will not occur if the course is still in draft status). If a provisional presenter is removed from the course, no communication is sent to them.
