The following article describes how to set up the add-ons you can use with your Arlo Website.
Newsletter add-on
The newsletter add-on allows people to subscribe to an external mailing/newsletter list by simply entering their email address into the subscription field on the Arlo website. This add-on feature is a separate stand-alone feature that should not be confused with the core Arlo newsletter subscription method.
Note: To take newsletter subscriptions during event registration, see Manage newsletter subscriptions.
Enable the newsletter
- Select the Add-ons tab.
- From the newsletter add-on, click Edit.
- Click Enable.
Complete your newsletter settings
- Select the Add-ons tab.
- From the newsletter add-on, click Edit.
- Fill in the Label and Message.
Example: How the Label and Message appears on the website.
- Insert your Form 'action.' This is required, and specifies the action attribute of the form.
- Select the Email Field 'method' that you want to action (i.e POST or GET). Note: The method attribute specifies how to send form-data (the form-data is sent to the page specified in the action attribute).
- POST - Sends the form-data as an HTTP post transaction, i.e appends form-data inside the body of the HTTP request (data is not shown in URL)
- GET - Appends the form-data to the URL in name/value pairs: URL?name=value&name=value. Useful for form submissions where a user want to bookmark the result.
- Enter the Email field name. This is required as it assigns a field name to the form, thus allowing name/value pair.
- Press Save or Save and close.
Social media add-on
The social media add-on allows you to put links to your social media accounts on your Arlo Website. This add-on also allows you to set up your AddThis integration.
Enable the social media add-on
- Select the Add-ons tab.
- From the social media add-on, click Edit.
- Click Enable.
Enter your social media account information
- Select the Add-ons tab.
- From the social media add-on, click Edit.
- For each of your social media accounts, enter the information to complete the relevant URL.
- Press Save or Save and close.
AddThis integration
AddThis is the world’s largest content sharing platform. They provide tools that make it easier to share content across the social web and provide publishers with increased traffic and in-depth analytics.
